Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME universal domain extension is the single TLD planned for personal websites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. At the beginning, only 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you desired to purchase john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased third-level domain names remained active.

You will have the chance to edit the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer authorization key from the current domain provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific rules on who can obtain a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
