Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, which is intended to prevent the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message is sent from one e-mail address, but to seem as being sent from a different one, typically with the purpose to scam the recipient someway. If SPF protection is activated for a domain, a special record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all the DNS servers around the world receive it. The record contains all the e-mail servers that are permitted to send authentic messages from an e-mail address under the domain. When an email is sent, the first DNS server it goes to checks the SPF record and when the sending server is permitted, the message is sent to the target receiver. In case, however, the sending server is not present in the SPF record for the given domain, the email message will not be forwarded and it'll be discarded. In case you use this service, it will stop third parties from sending spam that look as if they have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Shared Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for any domain name hosted in a shared hosting account on our cloud platform with only a couple of mouse-clicks. The option is accessible in the Emails section of our modern Hepsia Control Panel and what is needed to enable it is to pick one of your domains from a drop-down menu and to type in the hostnames together with the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers that will be permitted to send emails from your emails. As an additional option you can even restrict the messages to be sent from your domain only when it has our MX records, in other words if our servers manage the e-mail addresses for it, not some third-party supplier. This solution offers you the best standard of safety, but it's not applicable if only your web site is on our servers while your emails for the domain name are managed in a different place. Regardless, our SPF protection service will keep your emails risk-free from being used for spam and scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, that is included with our Linux semi-dedicated hosting, provides you with an extremely user-friendly interface to activate the SPF security service for any domain name that you host within your new account. Several clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia will be enough for that and you'll only have to enter the hostname and the IP address of the mail server which will be permitted to send messages from your e-mails. In case the emails are taken care of by us and not by some other supplier, you are able to boost the protection level even more and take advantage of an option for all of the outgoing emails to be sent only if your domains feature our MX records. This option will provide you with better control and it will eliminate any possibility of anybody forging your e-mails with the purpose of spamming or scamming people. It's not applicable in case only your site is on our hi-tech cloud web hosting platform, while your email addresses are managed by another provider. If you are not sure what features to select, our technical support staff will help you 24/7.
